Multiresponse Particle Swarm Optimization of Wire-Electro-Discharge Machining Parameters of Nitinol Alloys

The conventional process of machining nitinol alloy which possesses excess strain hardening and low thermal conductivity makes a complex that leads to extensive wear on the tool inadequate surface quality. Wire-electro-discharge (WEDM) is widely accepted for this involving various input factors, namely, P (pulse-on-duration), Q (pulse-off-duration), C, (maximum-current), V (voltage). Using PSO (particle swarm optimization) method, effect WEDM factors multiresponses such as MRR (metal removal rate) SR (surface roughness) has been investigated. ANOVA was used create relationship model between response characteristics, then optimized using methods (RSM). revealed variables A C are most significant. When investigated individually, influence parameters contradictory, no provides best To find optimal ideal condition decreasing maximizing MRR, MOOPSO approach used. = 25.47051 ?s, 10.84998 2.026317 A, 49.50757 volts were calculate universal solution characteristics (MRRmax 3.536791 mm3/min SRmin 1.822372 ?m). enhanced every combination variables, according findings. Based findings, wide range settings achieving maximum minimum given, depending product requirements.
